TIRE COLLECTION EVENT

The Adams County Conservation District is offering another Tire Recycling Event. The Event will be held at the Agricultural and Natural Resources Center (Ag Center), 670 Old Harrisburg Road, Gettysburg, on Saturday, May 21st from 8:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. This year’s event will require a charge of $3.00 per tire (non-refundable/check only), which must be pre-paid before registration will be final.

Participants must be residents of Adams County (no commercial businesses) and everyone must pre-register and pre-pay on or before May 2nd.  Adams County residents wishing to register are encouraged to do so as soon as possible, as there is a limit to the total amount of tires that can be accepted into the program.

When registering, participants must provide information regarding the size of the individual tires in order to plan for the appropriate number of transport trailers. Participants in the program will be allowed to dispose of 20 car or standard-size truck tires per household. Tires exceeding 48 inches in diameter, or 14 inches in width, will not be accepted.  All tires must be off the rim and free of mud/debris.  Tires may not be dropped off in advance.  Extra tires brought in that have not been pre-registered, may not be accepted.

For registration, come to the Adams County Conservation District, located at 670 Old Harrisburg Road, Suite 201 (Upper Level), Gettysburg.  Payment can be made by check or money order (payable to Adams County Conservation District, or ACCD); credit cards and cash will not be accepted.

For more information, call 717-334-0636 between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, or email canders@adamscounty.us.
